A

The conference was about whether a European consortium should take over the British helicopter company Westland, or to do nothing and let it fall to the American Sikorsky. Heseltine favoured the European approach but Thatcher favoured no interference and blocked discussion about it. Eventually Heseltine grew frustrated and walked out of the meeting.
