Suspected / Reported Explosive Devices:
A. The Major or Captain shall be the Bomb Incident Coordinator in each court location.

C. A court officer shall be guided as follows when receiving notification of a bomb
threat by telephone:
- Keep calm. Don’t antagonize the caller.
- Note the exact time.
- Keep the caller on the telephone as LONG as possible. (Quiz) 🚨

- Ask for location of bomb, the time of possible detonation and type of device.
- Inform the caller of the possibility of injury and death to innocent persons.

- LISTEN ATTENTIVELY and NOTE:
- Gender / Appx. Age
- Manner of speech: foreign or other accent; slow, fast, etc.
- Temperament: calm, emotional, etc.
- Voice characteristics: loud, deep, etc.
- Background noises such as: motors running, music, and other sounds (may provide clues for origin of the call)
- Write the message exactly as received.

- Report into to (BIC), complete and submit a Bomb Threat Report (UF-114) ASAP.
- If bomb threat is received in person, DETAIN the subject for questioning by appropriate officials.
- If a non-uniformed employee receives the threat, the employee should be
interviewed by a CO, and CO shall complete the Bomb Threat Report Form UF-114.

F. Suspected Explosive Devices
“Explosive Device: Any article detonated by mechanical or electrical means, which may possibly contain a chemical, gas, liquid, or other substance capable of causing a fire, explosion, burn, or other chemical reaction intended to cause injury to a person or result in damage and/or destruction of property.”
