79 Oil System Flashcards
The oil system consists of what?
Pressure system, scavenge system and breather system.
The self contained lubrication system provides a constant supply of clean oil to what components?
Engine bearings, reduction gears, accessory drives, torquemeter and prop governor drawn from an integral oil tank.
Where does the no1 bearing get its lubrication from?
Pressure oil from the filter outlet through a port of the compressor inlet case.
the No. 2 bearing, the reduction gearbox and front accessories, power turbine No. 3 and 4 bearings, and the propeller installation get their oil lubrication from where?
A common supply for all these components from the oil filter passage through a cored passage, transfer tube and outlet boss.
Thermostatic by pass and check valve is located at the compressor inlet case/oil tank, what is its purpose?
Dircects scavenge oil coming from the oil/fuel heater to the tank (low temps) or cooler (high temps) depending on temperature.
