31 Indicating & Recording Flashcards
What does the central warning system consist of?
two warning lights & two master caution lights, warning annunciator panel (all 3 in center glareshield) CAS annunciator panel. (Center lower pedestal)
What does the red warning annunciators indicate?
immediate crew alerting and corrective action.
What do the amber caution annunciators indicate?
immediate attention but not immediate corrective action.
What do the white status annunciators indicate?
normal or abnormal but does not require crew alerting or action
How are the master/caution lights reset?
By pressing the push switch which then a signal is applied to the annunciator control pcb., the annunciator will stay illuminated until the fault signal is removed.
How is the master/caution warning system tested?
Via a push to test switch located on the copilots side of the switches.
How is the dimming managed of the annunciator panels?
automatically via the ambient light sensor circuit.
What circuits do the ANN POWER and ANN IND provide power for?
ANN POWER - master warning/caution switches, annunciator control PCB, press to test.
ANN IND - annunciators on the CAS system and the glareshield annunciators.
What is not dimmer in the dim mode?
Master warning and caution lights.
What electronic flight display system EFIS is installed on this aircraft?
AFD-3010
What does the EFIS display?
air data, attitude, heading, EFIS malfunction, navigation sensor information.
When functioning as a PFD what information is provided?
airspeed, altitude, attitude, hsi, vertical speed.
All pfd’s provide what data?
speed, altitude, attitude, bearing, course, decision height, flight director commands, flight control system annunciations, minimum decent height, preselect altitude, radio altitude, tcas.
When functioning as an MFD what is displayed?
EGPWS, HSI, Weather radar information, TCAS, maintenance pages, checklists.
Are AFD’s interchangable?
Yes, the AFD will read the configuration to show the desired display format.
What provide you with user interface of the AFD’s and what formats do they control?
DCP-3000 - bearing, navigation sources, range selection, weather radar control.
The IFIS-5000 an an optional add on for the EFIS pro line avionics. what additional information does this system provide?
e-charts, vhf weather or XM sat weather, cursor control panel.
The IFIS-5000 an an optional add on for the EFIS pro line avionics. what additional information does this system provide?
e-charts, vhf weather or XM sat weather, cursor control panel.
Both the PFD’s and MFD can provide pilot selectable formats which include?
radio tuning, synoptics, flight management, maps, charts, weather, nav data, maintenance and checklist information.
How are your AFD’s identified?
No1 PFD, No2 MFD, No3 PFD
What other means are there to control the touchscreen AFD’s (Fusion)
Cursor control panels (CCP), multi-function keypad panel (MKP), single knob panels (SKP)
What is the purpose of the aircraft personality module?
Used to store aircraft specific data in a non volatile memory module mounted to the back of the instrument panel. Stays with the aircraft for the life of the plane.
What is the purpose of the tilt single knob panel? (SKP)
Used by flight crew to manually change the tilt of the radar.
What is the purpose of the Emulated control display unit.
Virtual function that controls the interface between each legacy line replaceable unit and each adaptive flight display
Where is the digital flight data recorder located?
In the tail section, on the upper shelf - Zone 312 STA 419.00
Describe the make up of the DFDR digital flight data recorder.
Internation orange case, operating off 28 Vdc. equiped with a ULB mounted on the front of the crash survivable memory unit.

Where is the accelerometer located and what is its function?
Cabin below the floorboards ZONE 153, 3 axis accelerometer that measures vertical, longitudinal, lateral. 28 Vdc
Where is the impact switch located and what is its operation?
Tail section, lower shelf. If there is an incident the impact switch will cut power to the DFDR to stop overwriting the recordings. The switch can be manually reset using the button on the unit.
What does the brake hydraulic pressure transducer do?
Measures the hydraulic pressure applied to the brakes for the DFDR, located in the wings.
What is the function of the integrated avionics processor system?
to interconnect and manage all the various avionic subsystems in the aircraft.
What is the purpose of the data concentration system DCS? and the Remote data concentrator RDC?
DCS - Provides 2 independent data channels for each engine, RDC - collects and transmits the digital data.
What systems does the data concentration system integrate with?
EFIS & IAPS
What is the primary use of the remote data concentrator?
To provide additional system input to the CAS system.
Each Data concentrator unit has a Cross talk Bus, what does this allow?
for each DCU to output either left or right engine data. faults can not flow between the 2 DCU’s
