27 Flight Controls Flashcards
Where is the flap gearbox located?
Forward side of the rear spar.
At what split will the flap safety mechanism cut power to the gearbox?
3 to 6 degree’s
How is the flap indicator operated?
By a potentiometer driven by the right inboard flap.
How many flaps and jackscrews are located on the flap system?
2 on flaps on each wing and 2 jackscrews on each wing.
What means of stops are there for the primary flight controls and trim.
Positive stops on the flight control surfaces and stops attached to the trim cables.
How many trim tabs are there for the aileron system?
Fixed trim tab on the RH aileron and moveable trim tab on the LH aileron assembly.
Where are the trim stops located for the aileron trim system?
On the cables themselves and stop fairleads.
Where are the rudder trim stops attached?
Fairleads
What size cables drives the aileron trim system?
1/16
Rudder boosts will react depending on the differential of torque from the torque transducers, what happens when it senses an engine out.
The flight control system provides a drive signal to the servo proportional to torque differential, higher diff = more rudder input voltage.
What does the elevator system have to help stability?
2 downforce springs attached to the bellcrank.
The flap lift transducer/stall warning provides the pilot of a pre stall condition, what changes the activation level of the warning tone?
Flap position
What components make up the stall warning system?
Lift computer, lift transducer, aural, left squat switch, stall warning self test, 5A CB, heat panel, heat control relay, 15A toggle switch.
What power requirements does the lift transducer need? 10 VAC
What helps prevent over travel of the flap system?
2 sets of motor windings
