What seals the door opening during flight.
A pneumatically inflated rubber seal
Where is your bleed air plumbed from for the door seal?
De-ice manifold located under the right side of the center aisle floorboard.
What type of emergency exits are installed on the aircraft?
Inward opening, plug type. Non hinged so they can be completely removed from the aircraft.
What should be checked on the emergency exit prior to flight.
That the lock lever is in the up (unlocked) position.
What damage can be caused to the emergency exit?
Cracks can form from rough finishing edges or skin flexing situation. these ares should be inspected with a 5 or 10X magnifier.
What helps cushion the closing of the large cargo door.
4 small gas springs attached to brackets on the door and on the fuselage structure above the door.
How is the cargo door help in the open position.
It is counter balanced but has the option to install a support rod.
How many switched are there for the cargo/airstair combo?
10 to indicate all latches and handles are stowed.
How many circuits are there to illuminate the CABIN DOOR annunciator? (CARGO/Airstair)
2 seperate circuits, one seeking a ground and the other providing power directly to the annunciator.
What will happen in the event that a switch actuator or cam fails?
The switch will return to normally closed to indicate an unlocked position.
What provisions are there for testing the cargo/airstair door warning switches?
A test receptacle located at the lower forward portion of the cargo door.
What is used to assist opening the heavy cargo door after an initial opening pressure has been applied?
a fwd and aft nitrogen filled gas spring.
