737 Systems: Fuel Flashcards
Where is the Nitrogen Generation System Operability indicator?
Main Wheel Well
What does IMBAL (amber) light illuminated indicate?
Main Tank fuel quantities differ by greater than 100lbs for MORE than 60 seconds
What does CONFIG (amber) light illuminated indicate?
-Center Fuel Tank >1600lbs
And
-Both CTR FUEL PUMP switches are positioned OFF
And
-Either engine is running
What does LOW (amber) light illuminated indicate?
When the respective Wing Tank is LESS than 2000lbs for MORE than 30 seconds
With all pumps operating, which fuel tank is burned first? Why?
Center tank. Because the Center Tank pumps operate at a higher output pressure
When do the Center Tank Fuel Pumps automatically shut off?
After approximately 15 seconds of CONTINUOUS LOW PRESSURE signal, the respective pump will shut off
What causes the Center Tank Fuel Scavenge Jet Pump to activate?
A float valve opens when the Left Main Tank reaches 4500lbs (Approx Half)
With the loss of AC power, how is fuel provided to the engines?
Suction Feed lines that bypass the pumps
What is the purpose of the Crossfeed Valve?
Interconnects the engine fuel manifolds to enable crossfeeding. So an engine with operating fuel pumps can provide fuel to both engines
What is indicated by a bright blue Crossfeed VALVE OPEN light?
Valve in transit or a disagreed with switch position
What does the Engine Start Lever control? What occurs in each position?
-IDLE: Spar and Engine SOV open
-CUTOFF: Spar and Engine SOV close
What do the ENG VALVE CLOSED (blue) and SPAR VALVE CLOSED (blue) lights indicate?
Bright: Valve in transit or disagree with Engine Start Lever or Engine Fire Switch position
Dim: Valve is closed
Which tank can the APU Suction feed fuel from?
Left Main
How is fueling and refueling accomplished?
Single Point refueling station in the right wing
