Removes the auto squelch feature, permitting reception of background noise and thereby testing receiver operation

A light above the frequency transfer switch, known as the OFFSIDE TUNING LIGHT
What failure messages could display on the RTPs, and what do they mean?
PANEL FAIL: The RTP panel has failed
FAIL FAIL: The radio itself has failed
What considerations should be made before keying the HF Radio on the ground?
While the aircraft is being fueled/defueled, as injury to personnel or a fire may result. And that personnel should remain 10ft from the vertical stabilizer when the system transmits to avoid injury.
Does the hand mic on the Aft Electronics Panel require the ACP to be tuned before making a PA to the cabin?
No, it bypasses the ACP
Why must the SELCAL light be reset?
No other calls may be received until the channel is reset
Which ACP is used to control the cabin MEDLINK headset jacks?
ACP 3 aka Observers ACP (On the overhead panel)
What is the priority of source selection for ACARS in the data mode?
