What is God’s providence?

1. God preserves all that has been created (Heb. 1:3),
2. sustains the creaturely causes of things (Gen. 50:20; Prov. 16:9),
3. and wills all that happens (Eph. 1:11).

God’s relationship to evil

1. God never does evil, but has sovereign control over it (Gen. 50:20)
2. uses evil to accomplishes his purposes (Acts 4:27),
3. but is never held culpable (James 1:13-14).

Human responsibility and divine sovereignty

1. Humans make real choices that have real consequences (Josh. 24:15).
