They are often used to signal severity. Example: Red for errors

What is the goal of warning texts?
To warn the user about something that is not possible to undo
The think aloud method
- One on one sessions 2. Tasks that users solve 3. Ask the user to think aloud while solving the task 4. Observing how easy it is for users to solve the tasks 5. Interview before and after the task solving (Similar to prototype testing but more formal)
Pilot testing
You need one participant to go through all the process. The goal is to try out all the material, practice the process and to check the system
What is a questionnaire?
A tool for conducting a survey. A questionnaire has the goal to gather data on particular knowledge. They can be both on paper and web. They can access many people but sometimes the response rate is not that good (30% is quite good)

What is a usability problem?
A problem in the functionality, look or structure of the user interface, that makes a completed system harder and more time consuming for the users of the system and impacts the user
Severity of usability problem
Minor problems - impacts the user not much
Rather serious - has some impact on users
Very serious problem - the user can’t continue
