Status
classic designs project a certain status as they become more desirable. It can increase the perceived status of an individual
Culture
classic designs that reflect cultural influences (may be national, religious or a sub-culture)
Obsolescence
the stage in a product life cycle where the product is no longer needed. Classic designs tend to transcend obsolescence and become desired objects long after they have ceased to be manufactured
Mass Production
Product that is produced in large quantities that contribute to a product reaching classic design status (the more it is produced the more visibility and accessibility by users)
Ubiquitous/ Omnipresence
a product that can be found almost everywhere and has been in circulation for a long time
Dominant design
the implicit features of a product that are recognized as essential by manufacturers and purchasers
