Nuchal Translucency
What test?
Withdrawal of fluid from the uterine cavity using a needle via transabdominal approach.
Amniocentesis

1st trimester combined test + alpha fetoprotein, estriol, hCG, and inhibin A. Most accurate with lowest screen-positive rate.
Full Integrated Test
What test?
Examination of cell-free fetal DNA within maternal blood.
Noninvasive Prenatal Testing
What test?
Small amounts of placenta obtained for DNA analysis. Transcervical or transabdominal.
Chorionic Villis Sampling (CVS)
What test?
Full integrated test – nuchal translucency. Option for clients without access to nuchal translucency measurements.
Serum Integrated Test
What test?
US of fetus, umbilical cord, and placenta and measurement of amniotic fluid levels.
Anatomy Ultrasound
What test?
Nuchal translucency, gestational age (crown-rump length), maternal serum markers (PAPP-A and free or total beta-hCG.
1st Trimester Combined Test
What test?
Determination of 2 hormone levels and comparison with norms. Pregnancy-associated plasma protein (PAPP-A) and free or total beta-HcG.
Maternal Serum Screening
What test?
Serum screen of various markers from maternal blood. MsAFP, uE2, inhibin A.
