Q
What do Enzymes do?
What are Enzymes?
A
- They speed up chemical reactions in living organisms.
- They are large proteins in a space called the active site.
- Each enzyme catalyses a specific reaction.
- LOCK AND KEY THEORY
- Work best at temperature & pH

Q
What do the Enzymes in Digestion?
A
- The enzymes pass out of the cells into the digestive system.
- They come in contact with food molecules.
- They catalyse the breakdown of large food molecules into smaller molecules.
