If a pathogen enters the body, the immune system tries to destroy it.

Stomach - glands produce acid which kills bacteria in food.
Skin - glands produce sebum which kills bacteria and fungi.

What is phagocytosis?
A
Blood cells helping defend against pathogens which involves the pathogen being surrounded by antibodies.
Antibodies is a special protein molecule.

Boosting immunity:
A
When someone gets a VACCINATION, small amounts of dead or weak pathogens are injected into the body. This helps white blood cells produce specific antibodies to fight of the disease.
