What is reportable force?

A

-Any use of force which is required to overcome subject resistance to gain compliance that results in death, injury or complaint of injury, complaint of continuing pain, or any use of force greater than low level force and any application of the LVNR

  1. Severity of the crime
  2. Whether the suspect poses an immediate threat to the safety of officers or others
  3. Whether the suspect is actively resisting arrest, or attempting to evade arrest by flight
  4. Influence of drugs/alcohol
  5. Time available to make a decision
  6. Availability of officers/resources to de-escalate the situation
  7. Proximity or access to weapons
  8. Environmental factors and/or other exigent circumstances
