Q
If a court order exists, and probable cause exists that a parental abduction has occurred
A
- A report must be taken for detectives to evaluate facts and circumstances
- Missing juvenile and abducting parent will be entered into NCIC
- Notify detectives if there is a reasonable belief the child is immediate danger of physical harm in the custody of the adverse parent.
- Detectives will consult Nevada Attorney General regarding prosecution

Amber Alert criteria
A
Must have:
- Confirmed abduction
- Under 18 years old
- Threat of death or serious bodily harm
- Information regarding suspect or suspect vehicle

When will a missing person be entered into NCIC?
A
- All juveniles 17 years and younger will be entered within 2 hours of receiving minimum data elements
- 18-20 year olds will be entered immediately (Suzanne’s Law)
- Adults with a disability, in physical danger, involuntary circumstances, victim of catastrophe, other suspicious circumstances.

Q
Does a missing persons report need to be completed if the juvenile has been located?
A
Yes. Additionally the missing person record must be cancelled by contacting teletypes.
