Promotional methods
There are 5 different promotional methods. They are: advertising, PR, sales promotion, sponsorships and social media.

You can advertise on newspapers, magazines, television, the internet and on billboards.
Different sales promotion methods
There are point of sale displays (eg: youβre in a supermarket like tesco and you see them next to the checkout counter, with various random items usually only children care about), there are 2 for 1 offers (buy 1 get 1 free) which can be useful when selling cheaper products like fruits or vegetables. There is the option of promoting through free gifts, samples, coupons and competitions.

Involves paid for communications
Promotional mix
Combination of promotional methods used by a business to communicate with its customers
Distribution channel
Describes how the ownership of a product passes from the producer to the final customer
Wholesalers
Break bulk. They buy in large quantities from a producer and sell to retailers.
Retailers
Shops that sell directly to the customer
Direct marketing
Occurs when there is a direct link from a producer to a customer with no intermediaries
Intermediary
A link in the distribution chain between the producer and the customer
