500 Emergency Medical Services Flashcards
Adequate PAR levels for ordering medical supplies assist with budgeting and waste management.
500
It is the policy of the Midwest City Fire Department to use a PAR level system for medical supply inventories.
500
The PAR level should be based on normal inventory usage for a two-week period at career stations. The PAR level should include all medical supplies maintained in fire stations and carried on apparatus.
500
A delivery schedule for supplies should be created and distributed to all stations one month in advance.
500
If the needed items cannot be obtained in the normal manner, contact the EMS supervisor.
500
If an LZ assigned by Emergency Communications Center is suitable, confirm that fact with Emergency Communications Center.
500
If available, mark the LZ corners with red auxiliary lights. If not available, use half-mile lights set to strobe and facing inward to the center from the corners. Two vehicles at the borders of the LZ with headlights facing the center of the LZ.
500
The AED data is stored on the X Drive for QI/QA purposes and Medical Director review.
500
All patients that the Lifepak 1000 is placed on for AED or 3 lead shall be downloaded.
500
If there are issues in the downloading process, send an email to the shift EMS instructor with the encountered problem and the incident number.
500
Patient records and reports are critical to the EMS QI/QA process and in cardiac arrest cases they are required to be reviewed per the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
500
Make sure AED does not have any signs of damage or neglect. If any damage is noted immediately notify the shift EMS coordinator and retrieve the AED that is located on 203 until repair is made.
