17 April: La Brigada 2505 landed in C + encountered military men
19 April: Fighting ended, many of La B were killed + imprisoned
Why did the USA invasion of Cuba fail?
- US failed to understand Castro was very popular
- Cuban ground forces were superior
- La brigada supply ships were sunk by Cuban planes coz they called of fighting on April 16
Who were the ‘La Brigada’?
Cuban exiles living in the USA, trained by the CIA, were going to create a national uprising against Castro. Landed in the Bay of Pigs ( Cuba)
