  • add NaOH and warm (Nucleo. sub. releases halide ions)
  • acidify HNO₃
  • add silver nitrate (AgNO₃)
  • Precipitates
    AgF = No ppt
    AgCl = white ppt
    AgBr = cream ppt
    AgI = yellow ppt
