4.2 - River - Bet-Check-Bet Lines Flashcards
What is the action that describes Bet-Check-Bet Line?
X-B-C,X-X,X-B
What affects IP’s bet size strategy in a Bet-Check-Bet Line?
After we (IP) bet flop and check back the turn, we’re largely capped.
So if we bet, we’ll bet bigger if the river changes the nuts, otherwise we’ll bet smaller.
Why are there no small size bets in a Bet-Check-Bet Line?
1 - EvCheck is very high
2 - Bets re-open the action to OOP, and we lose value by giving the opportunity for a XR, if we only have marginal hand.
What is IP’s smaller bet size in a Bet-Check-Bet Line?
B60 - when the nuts don’t change on the river.
What is IP’s larger bet size in a Bet-Check-Bet Line?
B100 - when the nuts change on the river, because IP has them more often.
What is a large mistake of IP in a Bet-Check-Bet Line?
Not finding enough bluffs.
Most of these combos are worth so little of the pot when we check back. So we need to implement more bluffs with those blockers. We don’t need to receive that many folds when bluffing to have a profitable bluff, relative to checking back.
