Rotational Take-home vehicle
For employees with on-call status in increments of 90 calendar days or less
If rotational on-call assignments last more than 90 calendar days in a year shall pay the take home vehicle fee only for the period over 90 calendar days in the same calendar year
How often shall the department review the driving record of each employee?
Annual basis.
Employee’s shall be disqualified from driving if
A) no current valid Texas DL
B) convicted of a felony involving the use of a motor vehicle
C) convicted of a DWI within 36 months prior to review
D) convicted of any combination of three moving violations or at fault crashes within 36 months prior to review
Who assigns and evaluates take-home vehicle apps?
Take-home vehicle committee
Who can make an exception to the 30 mile radius rule?
Executive assistant chief.
Up to 50 miles
If absent from work for more than five days and you have a take home vehicle
Make it available on police property.
As determined by the division commander
Can you assign a motor pool vehicle as a take home vehicle?
No
Overnight use of motor vehicles must have the approval of a supervisor in the employee’s division holding the rank of ________ or higher or civilian equivalent
Lieutenant
Long term temporary motor pool vehicle
Can be use for out of town travel or when assigned vehicle is unavailable for 48 hours due to repairs
*requires approval from employees division commander
Keys are turned in to
Transportation office
Motor pool drop box after hours
How often shall the vehicles be cared for and maintenanced ?
By the division coordinator.
Biweekly
What must be done before refueling a non department vehicle?
Division commanders must send written approval to the Transportation office via chain of command on the appendix B travel/ training form
