Obedient people accept the power/status of authority figure e.g. parents,teachers and see them as being in charge
What’s the second mark for legitimacy of authority figure?
Authority they have is legitimate as it’s agreed by society as we accept ppls credentials and believe they know what they’re doing. It’s ingrained in us to obey these ppl even if we think their order is unethical.

Where ppl move from being in a state where they take responsibility (autonomous state) to a state where they believe they’re acting on behalf of an authority figure (agentic state)
What’s the second mark for agentic state?
This is knows as the agentic shift which occurs when someone perceives someone as an authority figure.
What’s the third mark for agentic state?
In the agentic state they lose a sense of responsibility and don’t feel guilty for their actions as they see it as carrying out someone’s wishes of a more knowledgeable authority figure. If someone is in the agentic state they’re more likely to obey.
