Q

What are the STAGES of ROP?

A

Stage 1 = DEMARCATION
- Border BTW Vascularised + Non-Vascularised Retina

Stage 2 = FORMATION of RIDGE
- DEVELOPING the INTRARETINAL Proliferative Tissue

Stage 3 = Ridge WITH EXTRARETINAL Proliferation

Q

What is the EPIDEMIOLOGY of ROP?

A
  • Disorder is RARE
  • Infants with Birth Weight BELOW &laquo_space;1000g are at HIGH RISK of developing this disorder
  • NOT ALWAYS Preventable, DESPITE the OPTIMUM Care + Strict MONITORING of PARTIAL Pa of O2
