A

Non mutually exclusive events

A

When finding the union you need to not count the shared outcomes more than once,
P(A or B)= P(A)+P(B)-P(A and B)

Finding a union (addition rule)

A

P(A U B)= P(B)+P(A)-P(A n B)
If events are mutually exclusive,
P(A U B)= P(B)+P(A)
