He gave the Duma (Russian Congress) more power temporarily where then when the rest of the revolution was crushed he Nicholas dissolved the Duma.
Why was Russia’s entrance into WWI known as the “Last Straw?”
The war revealed the ineptitude and arrogance of the country’s aristocratic elite, it further tarnished the czar’s reputation and people’s faith and moral in the country through military defeats.
What were Russia’s failures during WWI?
They failed to supply troops resulting in mass casualties and they did not provide people with a reason for fighting in the war. Along with this the arragance of the government caused their failure. There was also problems with military commanders not following orders to the fullest extent.
What happened leaving Czarina Alexandra and Rasputin “in charge” of the Russian government?
Nicholas II went to the eastern front to be the commander to boost the troops morale. While they were in charge they threw the government into chaos while completely mismanaging the wartime economy and discrediting the monarch through Rasputin (who had scandals around him) and Alexandra (ruling as an autocratic as a woman which was seen as wrong) ruling.

Due to Nichloas away fighting the war and not managing his kingdom their resulted in first came food food riots, strikes, and protests against the war which grew out of control as the government lost control of the police and army which forced Czar Nicholas to abdicate making a Provisional Government take over.
