What does the command primary/secondary do?
Changes to either 24576/28672
Where can you change the port priority?
Must be done at the upstream switch
What does rootguard do?
It prevents downstream switches from becoming root bridge. A port will be ErrDisabled when a superior BPDU is received
What does portfast do?
Portfast disabled TCN generation for access ports
What does BPDU guard do?
BPDU guard shuts down port configured with Portfast upon receipt of a BPDU.
What does BPDU filter do?
Blocks BPDU from being transmitted on an interface
What happens when a MAC address is flapping?
The switch will send a syslog message with the MAC, vlan and ports
Where do you place Root Guard?
On designated Ports towards switches that should never become a Root Port
What does Loop Guard do?
Prevents any alternative or root ports from becoming designated ports
What is UDLD?
Unidirectional Link Detection
What does UDLD do?
Allows bidirectional monitoring of fiber-optic cables
What are the 2 UDLD modes?
- Normal
- Aggressive
