What are stem cells?
They are undifferentiated cells that can develop into different types of cell depending on the instructions they’re given

Embryonic because bone marrow stem cells can only turn into certain types of cell where embryonic stem cells can turn into any
Why is stem cell research important?
Stem cells may be able to cure many diseases
Why are some people against stem cell research?
- Embryos are potential human life
- Should concentrate research on finding other sources of stem cells
Why are some people in favour of stem cell research? (2)
- Curing people who already exist is more important than embryos
- They are unwanted from abortion clinics
