Attack tactics for helos
Hover- Most effective for delivering PGM
Running fire- improves accuracy of unguided ordinance
Diving - most accurate form of unguided word delivery
Attack patterns- Off axis shooting w/ crew served weapons
RW night considerations
Alt vary based on threats, WX, and terrain
in open desert helos tend to decrease alt to maintain visual reference to ground
in urban settings helps usually elevate up to 1500’-3000’ to avoid belly lighting
When working with non USMC RW CAS helos use plain language to define holding areas
