Describe grammar schools
Grammar schools had education for 11-19 year olds.

Students studied beyond O levels and went to university

12/13 year olds could move to these schools if they failed 11+ exam and if they went to secondary modern schools for a year
Attempted to create pupils that could become scientists,engineers and technicians.
PE was on curriculum and extra curricular provision in place.
How did availability of time and money change in 1900s
Time improved, more leisure time meant sport could be played more regularly and more skilfully. Shorter working week and earlier retirement.
Pay/Money improved: meant more individuals could access a greater variety of sports which required equipment e.g tennis. But there was still a divide. In 190-1960 sport was regular but still largely exclusive.
How did transport change in 20century
Public and private Transport became much more available to masses
Improved participation and spectatorism.
Increas opportunities for participation and spectators am
1948 Olympics benefited from improved transport allowing both competitors and spectators to access event.
Easier International transport enabled sport to become global commodity it is today.
