Shock Trauma - 2040
Treatment: (10)
• Maintain body warmth
• Provide spinal immobilization if indicated
• Airway/breathing management
• Monitor SpO2
• Administer O2 via proper adjunct to maintain oxygen saturation of 95% or greater
• Consider SAM pelvic splint for pelvic fractures
Impaled odjects in place unless the object must be removed to stabilize the airway
• Control bleeding
• Apply tourniquet if applicable for uncontrolled hemorrhage
• Bleeding from nose and/or ears should not be stopped, but a sterile dressing should be placed over nose and/or ears.
• Initiate cardiac monitoring
• Determine Blood Glucose Level
• Look for underlying cause
• If unable to intubate after two attempts
• Insert supra-glottic airway
