Members with zero leave balances have three (3) options available to them through the Chief of Personnel:

· Request a SLWP to be deducted from future vacation or accrued leave.
· If the circumstances are such that a change in work schedule will allow member to effectively deal with family responsibilities, member may request an “off line” detail. Availability of this option is subject to the needs of the Department.
· If the circumstances are recurring or episodic, member may request a variance from the usual restriction on mutual exchange of tour privileges for a period of up to 30 days.
If a member uses ML inappropriately for time off the Chief of Health Services will notify the Chief of Personnel to deduct the ML time from what?

Medical leave is inappropriate and will not be granted unless the member is ill or injured. In instances where medical leave is utilized inappropriately, the Chief of Health Services
will notify the Chief of Personnel to deduct time on medical leave from members leave balances.
