Self-efficacy - the belief that you have the capabilities/capacity to complete a task or reach a goal
Increasing self-efficacy increases motivation and improves performance

Mastery of experiences
Succeeding in a difficult task increases efficacy beliefs & vice versa
Modellling
Seeing someone you identify with (similar in ability, knowledge, talent etc.) succeeding efficacy beliefs and vice versa
Social persuasion
Belief of others that you can succeed increases efficacy beliefs and vice versa
Physiological states
Symptoms of stress or fatigue cause the belief that the task is beyond our capabilities
Techniques used to reduce stress or fatigue increase efficacy beliefs (think breathing/movement exercises, resting, strategies etc. that calm you down and make you feel more capable)
