The first step in the hairstyling process
Finger waving
The process of shaping and directing the hair into an s pattern through the use of fingers, combs, and finger waving lotion
Horizontal finger waves
Waves that are placed sideways and parallel around the head
Base
Stationary foundation of a pin curl

Hold the teeth of a comb or the bristles of a brush at a 45 degree angle pointing away and lightly move the comb over the surface of the hair

A few drops added to soapy solution to remove dirt, oils, and product residue from a thermal iron
Hair pressing
A technique used to temporarily straighten extremely curly or
Resistant hair until the hair is shampooed
Hard press
Technique used twice in each side of the hair with a thermal pressing comb to remove a curl
Tight scalp
Can be made more flexible with hair and browsing and the systematic use of scalp massages
Executing an updo
Stand back and away from your work to make sure the balance is right and use the mirror to look at every angle

Test iron after hearing it to desired temperature
