4 TCAS symbols, what do they mean?

  • OT: Other Traffic
  • PT: Proximity Traffic (inside ±1200 feet)
  • TA: Traffic Alert (traffic is closest in 10-48 sec)(TA ONLY automaticly ON below 1000’ AGL)
  • RA: Resolution Advisory (Corrective or Preventive action, e.i. “CLIMB CLIMB” and red and green markings on the VSI shows how fast to climb/descend).

ATC selector 1 or 2, what is the difference?

A

Sends ATC data from ADC 1 or 2.
(Air Data Computer)

When flying in RVSM use same side as Autopilot is using, e.i. AP is flying on ADC 1, = use ATC selector 1.
