07 Electrical Flashcards
ADG TEST LAMP (Green dot on ADG panel). (Air driven Generator)
How does it illuminate during:
- LAMP Test
- UNIT test on GRND
- UNIT test in-flight
- Illuminates steady
- After 2 sec for 2 sec
- After 5 sec for 2 sec
What warning comes on when ADG (Air Driven Generator) is deployed, and what does it mean?
EMER POWER ONLY
ADG is supplying the AC essential bus, and no power is available from AC BUS 1 or 2.
What are the 5 AC busses named?
AC BUS 1
AC BUS 2
AC ESS BUS
AC UTILITY BUS 1
AC UTILITY BUS 2
ADG
What BUS does ADG supply power to?
AC ESS BUS
& hyd pump 3B
DC Electrical page: How many V minimum on APU BATT and MAIN BATT?
22 VDC MINIMUM
What does EICAS stand for and what is it?
Engine-Indicating and Crew-Alerting-System.
Provide aircraft flight crew with instrumentation and crew annunciations for aircraft engines and other systems.
What BUS charges the AC Battery?
AC BUS 1
What BUS charges the APU Battery
AC BUS 2
What are the 9 DC Buses called?
DC BUS 1
DC BUS 2
DC ESS BUS
DC EMER BUS
BATT BUS
DC UTIL BUS 1
DC UTIL BUS 2
MAIN BATTERY DIRECT BUS
APU BATTERY DIRECT BUS
Nominal rating of each generator? (kVA)
30 kVA to 35,000’ and 25 kVA to 41,000’
In the event of a single generator failure, the remaining generator is capable of supplying sufficient power for operation of the main systems.
115-volt AC, 400-Hz generator
Nominal rating for APU GEN
30 kVA to 20,000
115-volt AC, 400-Hz generator
External power monitor monitors 3 things?
When connected, the external AC ground power is checked by an external power monitor for proper voltage, frequency, and phase.
BUS priority
On-side engine-driven generator
APU generator
Cross-side engine-driven generator
External AC powe
What BUSes are load shed during single GEN ops in flight and on the ground.
During single-generator operation in flight, AC UTILITY BUS 1 and 2 are automatically load shed to reduce the electrical load on the remaining generator.
During ground operations, AC utility buses 1 and 2 are load shed when a single generator (or external AC power only) is supplying AC power and the flaps are not retracted.
ADG output, bus and hydraulic
The ADG provides 115-volt, 400-Hz, 15-kVA power to the AC ESS BUS and 3B hydraulic pump.
When does the ADG automatically deploy?
• Both AC BUS 1 and AC BUS 2 become unpowered
• The aircraft is in flight
What are the sources of DC power?
4 transformer-rectifier units (TRUs).
2 NiCad batteries. (Main and APU bat)
1 External DC power receptacle
- supply direct current (DC) power to the DC buses.
DC
With MAIN BUS TIE selected, what buses are shed?
Whenever the MAIN BUS TIE switch/light is selected following a TRU 1 or 2 failure, the DC UTIL buses are load shed to reduce the DC electrical load.
ADG, when does it automatically deploy?
- AC BUS 1 & 2 inop
- AC in flight
ADG limitations (wet and dry adg)
Wet ADG:
- 250 kias
- 215 kias (flight test or training)
Dry ADG:
- None
