Characteristics of a static web page
Website where the same content is displayed to all users viewing the website at the same time. It is fixed and doesn’t change from users to user. It is a collection of HTML documents hosted on a server that are interconnected using hyperlinks.
They are cheaper and easier to create
Characteristics of dynamic web pages
Has content that may change from user to user. They allow different content to be shown to each user. The components are stored separately and are brought together into a common layout.
When a request for the website is asked for the web server sends the layout and fills in the content that is relevant for the user. They are harder to code but are more personalised.
What does client side scripting mean
Means the web page changed according to a persons actions on the web page; the content can be downloaded and modified and then uploaded
What does server side scripting mean
Means that the page changed whenever a page is loaded, for example, login or sign up pages.
Contents of static web pages and how they are stored
Have fixed content, must be changed manually, use only web server, quick and cheap, loading is quicker, uses HTML

Have changing content, changes are loaded through an application where resources are stored in a database, use a web server, application server and a database.

a podcast is a downloadable audio file that can be listened to when convenient for the user
What is streamed audio and video
Formats such as real time radio and television and catch up videos. YouTube is a video source and Spotify is a audio streaming

Can view things in real time
Disadvantages of streamed audio and video
Requires high bandwidth to stream live
What are social media channels
Sites such as twitter facebook and LinkedIn that use forums and discussion boards to allow users to interact, share, comment and view content.
