15) EXTRA KNOWLEDGE + NATIONAL 5 Flashcards
What is displacement
More reactive metal kicks less reactive metal from their solution and takes its place
(Only happens between metals reacting with metal solutions)
E.g:
Fe(s) + CuSO4(aq) –> FeSO4(aq) + Cu(s)
What is an isotope
Same atomic number but different mass numbers due to a difference in the number of neutrons
What is an isomer
Same molecular formula, different structural formula
What is the MP and BP of a gas, liquid and solid
Gas:
MP & BP ℃
Solid:
MP & BP > 25℃
How do you work out atomic number
= protons
= electrons
How do you work out mass number
Protons + Neutrons
How do you work out protons
= atomic number
= electrons
How do to work out mass number
Mass number - Protons (atomic number)
How do you work out electrons
= protons
= atomic number
