  • 1115 density
  • 89% Muslim so contraception not used as widely
  • As birth rates fell, caused population growth to explode, exceeding the resources
  • GDP/person and standard of living very low
  • Many underemployed and don’t work full time.
  • Wages are low, literacy is 72%
  • Poor education - lack free education
  • High IMR and death rate
  • Struggle to feed
  • Deforestation
  • Overcrowding, pollution
  • Area also susceptible to tropical storms and monsoons and so lots of funding on that
