Many families struggle to provide basic housing, high rates of overcrowding, lack of sanitation, sharing of beds
- Pop density of 226/km2
- High rates of under and unemployment
- Wages are low
- Parents struggle to provide basic ameneties and there is pressure on healthcare, education, deforestation and desertification
Introduced a family planning campaign but had limited success - TFR fell from 6.1 to 5.6 in 40 years
