Thus having spoken she turned back from her son
And having turned she spoke among her sister sea-nymphs:
‘You now plunge into the broad bosom of the sea,
To see the old man of the sea and the house of our father,
And tell him everything; I will go [from next line] to lofty Olympus
to Hephaestus, of famed skill, to see if he will be willing
To give to my son famous all-shining armour.”

So as to bring famous armour to her dear son.
And her feet were carrying her to Olympus: but the Achaeans
With a wondrous shout, fleeing at the hands of
Man-killing Hector, were reaching the ships and the Hellespont.
Nor had the well-greaved Achaeans drawn Patroclus
From the missiles, a corpse, the squire of Achilles,
