What is mainframe computers? Name 2 advantages and disadvantages
A
Mainframe are huge computers which are very reliable.
Advantages
- Process large amounts of data
- can solve engineering and scientific problems
Disadvantages
- very expensive
- requires expert staff to oversee the computers

What is quantum computers?
A
Quantum computers are still under research and development. A fully working quantum computer can process data millions of times faster. Doesn’t use standard binary logic.

What is an embedded system?
A
Computers within a wider system that complete a dedicated job. e.g computers in a hot hub allowing for jet engine, LED lights etc.
