Why do ‘hyperglobalisers’ applaud globalisation?
Millions of people have escaped the ‘dollar-a-day’ poverty since 1970, they celebrate cultures mixing and local culture becoming more diverse
How was global connection achieved in the past?
Trade - especially after 1492 when Columbus reaches the Americas and world economy began to form

The growth of trading blocs allows TNCs to merge as well as reduced trade restrictions and tariffs to promote market growth
Global concerns such as free trade and the response to natural disaster
The World Bank, IMF and WTO work internationally to harmonise economies

International immigration has created extensive family networks so societies become multi-ethnic
Global improvements in education and health rising world life expectancy though not all changes are uniform or universal
Social interconnectivity has grown over time by ‘universal connections’ e.g. mobile phones and the internet
Describe cultural globalisation
Successful western cultural traits dominate some territories e.g. ‘Americanisation’
Cultural erosion to new emerging cultures and foreign investment
