What are the core elements of any project organization?
Temporary structure defining - authority - responsibility - competence - processes - rules and regulations specific to one project and may be adapted to the project phases.
What is the responsibility of the project manager? (Project organization)
Responsible for
- managing and leading the project team
- recruiting
- planning and scheduling
- developing a definition of the project (in conjunction with the sponsor
- ensures it is delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality standard.
- responsible for effectivity and efficiency
- monitoring progress and performance
What do steering committees do and who should be the members?
Members from upper management (above project members)
Responsible for all/a subset of a companies projects
Prioritizes projects in accordance with strategic company objectives

Resolve conflicts between project and line authority
What is most commonly the responsibility of the project controller?
Role can be interpreted in different ways:
- responsible for transparency in the project (common sense)
- monitor and report finances of projects to PM and/or management
- ensure the available PM tools are used effectively at all times

- organize communication/reporting to exec. management
- provide tools

- organize trainings and certification
