Set it to a pt-specific pressure to strengthen their respiratory muscles
What are the effects of glossopharyngeal breathing?
- Augment cough effectiveness
- Provide internal mobilization of the chest wall
- Improve QOL by allowing periods of independence
How does glossopharyngeal breathing work?
Pt swallows air into the lungs to incr VC
Who is glossopharyngeal breathing used for?
Pt’s w/high level tetraplegia
