A
Mean high tide mark to changes in physiology

Mean low tide mark to where waves break
- contains breaker/surf zone
- areas within are affected by currents

A
- formations dominated by land based processes
- eg. River deltas due to deposition of material
- Zavodovski Island

- formations dominated by marine erosion
- eg. Destructive waves eroding cliffs

What are alluvial coasts/coastal plains?
A
- Sections of coastline created by deposition of sediment
- have low gradient slopes
- are flat

A
- Area between nearshore and backshore
- contains the swashzone

- Region where waves start to break
- bubbly surface of water when breaking is called surf
