The reservation system was introduced

There was a bad harvest, and annual government cash was not payed so 12,000 Sioux couldn’t eat

The attacked an Indian agency and killed 700 white settlers

In 1862 2000 of them were capture and 303 were sentenced to death but due to weak evidence only 38 were actually killed

The Indians surrendered but it was ignored and they were killed anyway, they attacked when the Warriors weren’t there (mainly women and children)

He thought up a three pronged attack on the sips Indians who were camping in the valley

They had no way of communicating with each other and they had not found out how many Indians there were

He refused a Gatlin gun and reinforcements and he deliberately disobeyed orders
He divided his troops and made them too tired and he rose across the wolf Hills so they arrived a day too early

The Indians had much bigger numbers and better weapons

Becuase they didn’t plan properly and Custer disobeyed orders, only 1 man survived and he was an Indian scout who pretended to be Indian
