Define Reconquista
The process of conflict, expansion and settlement of Christianity in the aim of recapturing territory from the Moors in the Iberian Peninsula between 8th c and 1492.

Visigothic nobleman who founded the kingdom of Asturias and who is credited with starting the Reconquista.
Who were the Catholic Kings?
Isabel of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon, who reigned from 1474-1504 and 1479-1516 respectively. They led the reconquering of Granada from the Moors in 1492, giving them the title of the Catholic Monarchs. Their marriage united thr four kingdoms of Castile, Leon, Aragon and Navarre.
What is Patronato?
The right to control appointments of church officials.
What is a Converso?
Jews who converted the Christianity after the completion of the Reconquista in 1492.
What is a Morrisco?
Muslims who converted to Christianity after the completion of the Reconquista in 1492.
What is the Estatuo de Limpieza de Sangre?
This statute meant that if you were not an old Christian (i.e. of Jewish or Muslim descent) you could not get a position in the theocracy or hold a job.
