Differentiate between the capabilities of Prime BEEF and RED HORSE
Prime BEEF:
- light construction
- emergency services
- base operations support
RED HORSE:
- mobile heavy repair and construction exceeding Prime BEEF capabilities
- self sufficient
- specialized equipment
- no emergency services
Explain why Prime BEEF and RED HORSE units are organized differently
Emergencies are under Prime BEEF to support the recovery of bases
RED HORSE has a logistics component to allow for self sufficiency
Describe the employment of Prime BEEF in garrison and contingency operations
Garrison:
- Home station Prime BEEF days
- MEETs (mission essential equipment training)
- Mission qualification (team training on low density assets, full spectrum exercises)
Contingency ops:
- Establish, sustain, protect, and recover bases
- light construction, repairs, emergency services
- Ex: barebase beddown, tent city construction, airfield reapair
Describe the employment of RED HORSE in garrison and contingency operations
Garrison:
- Troop training projects (TTPs)
- AFSC specific training
- Practice essential skill sets like asphalt paving, utility work etc
