1 Flashcards
Bony landmarks of clavicle?
There are 3:
Acromial end
1. Trapezoid line
2. Conoid Tubercle
Sternal end
3. Oval depression for costoclavicular ligament
Also subclavian groove
What is coracoclavicular ligament? Its attachment points?
Connects clavicle to scapula
Has 2 portions
1. Conoid (medial) ligament —– to conoid tubercle of clavicle
2. Trapezoid (lateral) ligament —— to trapezoid line of clavicle
What are the ligaments of shoulder joint?
- Coracohumeral(to greater tuberosity of humerus)
- Coracoacromial
- Coracoclavicular
- Glenohumeral
Which nerve is damged during surgical repair of clavicle?
Supraclavicular nerve
1st bone to begin ossification?
Clavicle
Clavicle fracture occurence?
Most commonly fractured bone
Lateral 3rd —— 15%
Middle 3rd —— 80%
Medial 3rd —— 5%
Which long bone has no medullary cavity?
Clavicle
Types of clavicular fracture?
1.Type - I —— Coracoclavicular ligament remains intact
- Type - II —— Coracoclavicular:
Medial (conoid ligament) —- displaced
Lateral (trapezoid ligament) —- intact
